Two members of a criminal group which fleeced close to $200,000 worth of luxury watches, booze and electronics from a southwest Sydney warehouse have confessed to their role in the brazen crime.

A stash of 284 watches – worth $500 each – was discovered in the Rossmore garage of Nathan Kinnane, 35, who pleaded guilty to four offences including larceny and dealing with criminal proceeds worth more than $100,000 on Monday at Campbelltown Local Court.

The treasure trove of goods was stolen in broad daylight from Next Logistics warehouse, located on Stennett Rd, Ingleburn, which stored the property of Nixon Watches, Qantas Australia and Boozebud.

Kinnane and his brother Jamie Patrick Kinnane, who recently pleaded guilty to his role, worked as truck drivers for their father’s logistics business which was renting warehouse space off Next Logistics with only a small fence separating the two businesses. There is no suggestion his father was involved in the theft and has not been charged by police.

On the Australia Day public holiday, the Kinnane brothers and Prestons woman Stefane Ann Devine spent the afternoon looting the Next Logistics warehouse, placing the luxury watches and electronic goods onto trolleys before loading up cars, all captured on CCTV footage. The group accessed the warehouse as Jamie Kinnane knew the alarm code, and spent up to three hours inside.

Devine, 28, was charged by detectives five weeks following the brazen theft with a “distinctive” lower back tattoo identifying her at the scene. At Campbelltown Local Court on Monday, the Prestons woman pleaded guilty to larceny and participating in a criminal group.

Nathan Kinnane and Devine will return to court in coming months to be sentenced.
