Campbelltown Hospital was among the biggest winners in the NSW Budget, as it’s revealed how patients and staff are set to benefit from $224 million in funding.

Patients and staff at Campbelltown Hospital were some of the biggest winners in the NSW Budget, handed down of Tuesday, with the NSW Government allocating its highest amount of health funding to stage two of the $632 million redevelopment plans.
The $224 million allocated this year includes major advancements in mental health and south west paediatric services, which is expected to be complete by 2023.
NSW Treasurer Domonic Perrottet announced a swath of health infrastructure initiatives, both new and existing, across the state.
Mr Perrottet said the investment would expand on the government’s major infrastructure program.
“We’re investing in the health of our people and building a better NSW with our futurefocused budget supporting patient-centred care, while allowing us to change how we deliver healthcare, with new technologies and modernised facilities,” Mr Perrottet said.
While Health Minister Brad Hazzard said health spending accounted for almost one-third of the NSW Budget.
“Since March 2011, recurrent funding for the NSW public health system has increased by almost $11 billion, up from $15.5 billion in 2010-11 – a 70.8 per cent increase,” Mr Hazzard said.
