A plan to transform the failed Brands on Sale factory outlet in the Campbelltown CBD into a set of high rise towers will go before Campbelltown Council on Tuesday night.
Councillors will vote at their monthly meeting whether to approve a draft planning proposal to raise the height limit of the site which would enable six towers to be built.
The proposal, if endorsed by councillors, will still have to go through the NSW Government’s gateway determination process and put on public exhibition before it is approved.
The proponent Pacific Planning, want to build a 20-storey building, eight storey building and four 12 storey buildings on the site.
The existing Brands on Sale building and old bowling alley next door would be demolished to make way for the development.
Council planners have recommended a reduced height for the signature building of 15 storeys.
Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic said the development would transform the gateway to the heart of Campbelltown.

“The proponents had initially put forward a larger height than what we would like in a spot that is seen as the gateway to the city,” he said.
“But I’m confident that all parties involved will come out happy.
“We’re very excited about this development because it is a great economic opportunity.”
Cr Brticevic said plans such as this proposal and Campbelltown RSL’s proposed development in the centre of Queen St would help transform the area.
“We’re close to putting out the second part of our Re-imagine Campbelltown plan,” he said.
“Developments like this and the Campbelltown RSL development will attract others looking to work with us, I think there’ll be a domino effect.”
