A man has been sentenced after sending multiple pictures of his penis to someone he thought was 14 years old.
Troy Harold Harris, 36, appeared in Picton Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under the age of 16.
The Menangle man was charged after chatting to a police investigator, who was posing as a teenager, multiple times between November 25, 2020 and June 3, 2021.
The investigators from the Child Exploitation Unit assumed the online identity “AOI” of a 14-year-old female.
Court documents show that on November 25, after entering Chat IW the AOI received a private message from the accused using the profile name ‘Stra8 Panties’.
When Harris was told by AOI she was 14, he responded “oh wow you are lil. sorry I’m probably too old lol”.
He later sent AOI two pictures including one of his penis showing out of the top of his pink underwear. Neither image showed his face.
The court documents revealed when the AOI commented “iv never seen one of those before”, Harris responded “im so glad to be your first hehe” and ”do you like it”.
On April 17, 2021, Harris and the AOI had a conversation via Kik where he told them that he lived near Campbelltown and was a car salesman.
Court documents showed he asked AOI if his profile picture on Kik was too much and when asked why, he replied “I dunno, cause its a pic of my bulging d--k lol”.
When the AOI state they weren‘t doing anything wrong, Harris replied “well we kinda are, you’re a lot younger than me and I’ve shown you some naughty pics hehe”.
He sent AOI two more pictures including one of him wearing a black G-string and one of him in a pink G-string with his penis hanging out.
Harris was arrested on August 11, 2021 after a search warrant was executed at his home.
Court documents show he told police that he “sent photos to a girl on a chat line and she was underage”.
Harris was sentenced to 35 days in prison to commence on March 10, 2022 and to expire on April 13. He is also subject to a good behaviour for 12 months.
