Nathan Cook, James Jansen allegedly hit a man with their car at East Hills pub

A second man has faced court after he allegedly assaulted a 49-year-old before his mate allegedly hit him with a 4WD after leaving a western Sydney pub.

A second man has been charged with allegedly assaulting a man after being forced to leave a pub in Sydney’s southwest.

Nathan Cook made a brief appearance at Moss Vale Local Court on Thursday after he was taken into custody via a warrant and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

The 30-year-old did not appear during the appearance where the court heard he has no prior convictions.

Police allege Mr Cook, alongside his friend and co-accused James Jansen, were asked to leave the licensed venue on Maclaurin Ave at East Hills due to their behaviour about 10.45pm Saturday.

The men left in a Nissan X-Trail before Mr Cook allegedly left the car and approached a 49-year-old who was walking along the street.

Police allege Mr Cook kicked the older man, forcing him to fall onto the road.

Mr Jansen, 35, then allegedly drove at the 49-year-old and hit him with the Nissan.

The 35-year-old was arrested at his Currans Hill home on Sunday and taken to Narellan police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous and use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence.

He appeared at Picton Local Court on Monday where he applied for bail but it was refused. Mr Jansen will reappear in court on May 31.

Further investigations led police to the arrest of Mr Cook at Narellan Police Station on Wednesday where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

Mr Cook remains in custody on remand and did not apply for bail on Thursday. He will reappear in court in June.
