NEWLY enrolled Macarthur Anglican School student Jessica Tripp will compete against the world's top 16 junior showjumpers in Mexico next week.
The 14-year-old became the third Australian to qualify for the prestigious Children's International Classic Final in Valle De Bravo after winning the Gold Tour at the Australian Youth Showjumping Championships in Camden in September.
Tripp was the only rider to complete all four rounds without incurring any penalties, which earned her a top 16 world ranking. Competitors in the Children's International Classic final must ride with a borrowed horse.
"My success was based on a strong partnership with my horse, Cooper, but I've been practising with borrowed horses so I should be fine," she said.
Tripp and her sister, Samantha, each won silver medals at the Children's Jumping competition in Mauritius last year.
