The Macarthur Gardens estate is set to expand with planning under way for a new north precinct.
State Government developer Landcom will develop an 18ha vacant site adjacent to Macarthur railway station, on the Western Sydney University side of the rail line.
Landcom will soon begin a masterplan for the site.
The project is an extension of the 276-lot Macarthur Gardens development constructed by Stockland.
A Landcom spokeswoman said the already approved concept plan for the larger Macarthur Gardens precinct included a mix of housing types.
“Landcom will soon start master planning for the 18ha Macarthur Gardens North site and complete required technical studies,” the spokeswoman said.
“Relevant stakeholders and the community will be consulted prior to finalising the plans.
“New community infrastructure to be delivered as part of the project will include open space, bush regeneration and connections to Macarthur train station and Western Sydney University.”
Landcom has already begun earthworks on part of the site.
