A 27-year-old man who enticed a police detective, posing as a 14-year-old ‘lad’, to “throatf**k” him will have to wait close to four months to learn his fate with a judge voicing concerns for his mental health.
Luke Cavallaro, of Pleasure Point, appeared in Campbelltown District Court on Friday for the first time since pleading guilty to using a carriage service to procure person under 16 for sexual activity last December.
Judge Andrew Colefax offered the expected two-hour sentence hearing to take place on March 26, but Cavallaro’s lawyer instead asked for a further two-month delay to allow barrister Matthew Johnston, SC, to represent him.
An incredulous Judge Colefax said “that’s almost four months away” before voicing his concerns for Cavallaro’s mental health.
“If your client wants to sweat it out for four months, that’s on him,” he said. “He is in the court today.
“It is not always good for the mental health to be waiting around for so long.”
An agreed fact sheet previously tendered to the court revealed Cavallaro’s kink for performing oral sex on ‘lad’ boys after he flirted with a police officer for a three-month period in 2018, under the illusion he was chatting up a 14-year-old boy from Minto.
He told the police officer, posing as a boy, he thought it was a turn on “being on my knees sucking a lad” and repeatedly asked the ‘boy’ to wear his ‘lad gear’ when they meet up, even suggesting to meet at his Spring Farm work office.
On other occasions, Cavallaro begged for pictures of the fictitious boy’s penis, sent him a link to a pornographic video and asked if he would “throatf**k” him.
The Pleasure Point man faces a maximum penalty of 15 years jail. He is on bail and will return to Campbelltown District Court on May 29.
