Vets at Brownlow Hill’s Avian Reptile and Exotic Pet Hospital (AREPH) are working to reunite a lost Rainbow Lorikeet with his family.
Veterinary nurse Emily Lay said the bird was found on Kitson Place in Minto about two weeks ago and yet not yet been reclaimed.
“It’s very very used to humans which is what alerted us to the fact that he’s a pet,” she said.
“When he came in he was quite skinny but now he’s happy, healthy, chubby and very talkative.
“Health wise he’s got the full tick of approval from all the vets here, but no one has come for him.”
Ms Lay said the bird did not have anything to make him identifiable, but staff hope that his family may hear he has been found and come to claim him.
