Land and Environment Court approves Picton development
A TWO hectare site on Picton’s Menangle St will soon welcome more than 60 residential dwellings, after consent orders were issued by the Land and Environment Court.

PICTON’S CBD will soon welcome a new multi-million dollar development, after consent orders were recently issued by the Land and Environment Court.
A two hectare Menangle St site will welcome more than 60 residential dwellings, after an agreement beween Corbett Constructions and Wollondilly Shire Council.
The development will include two buildings totalling 26 units, 32 townhouses and three cottages at 91-103 Menangle St, Picton.
The agreement was made after Corbett Constructions appealed Wollondilly Shire Council’s “deemed refusal” of the proposed development.
The development was first proposed in 2016, worth about $20 million.
Land bordering Stonequarry Creek in lieu of development contributions, as part of a voluntary planning agreement between Corbett Constructions, HLJR Pty Ltd and Wollondilly Shire Council.
A Wollondilly Shire Council spokeswoman said the agreement was negotiated with the community in mind.
“Consent orders have been issued by the Land and Environment Court approving the development of the site,” she said.
“Corbett Constructions have offered to dedicate land alongside Stonequarry Creek, as part of a voluntary planning agreement.
“This land will form part of a future open space corridor and cycleway, that when complete, will provide a recreation link between Argyle Street and Victoria Park.”
Corbett Constructions could not be reached for comment.
