Kristy Burke from Moss Vale is facing armed robbery charges over Mittagong RSL

A glamorous woman and a man allegedly held up Mittagong RSL workers at gunpoint in broad daylight on the weekend. She broke down in tears after she was refused bail.

Kristy Burke, 39, wept in court, upon hearing she will be staying behind bars until her next court appearance in October.

The woman, from Moss Vale, has been charged with robbery while armed with a serious weapon, in relation to a daylight hold up at Mittagong RSL on Bessmer Street at 1pm on Saturday.

Police will allege her accomplice, a 26-year-old man, pulled a firearm on a 61-year-old employee, threatening patrons and staff and demanding cash during the terrifying ordeal.

Police say they spotted the man carrying a duffel bag on the corner of Kirkham and Elizabeth Streets in Moss Vale only hours after the alleged robbery.

Officers will allege a shortened rifle, ammunition and cash were located in the bag.

Ms Burke was arrested a home in Campbelltown at 6pm on Monday following further police inquiries .

Police will allege in court Ms Burke was driving the vehicle used to flee the scene.

Ms Burke was supported by her parents in court, who blew her kisses when she appeared on videolink.

Both of the accused will appear in Moss Vale Court on October 20.

Mittagong RSL has reopened after closing for the remainder of Saturday and thanked patrons on Facebook for their understanding.
