GLEN Alpine’s Josh Cotter surprised the love of his life, 24-year old Jessica Anderson, with one of the Macarthur region’s most elaborate and romantic proposals.
Six months in the making, 23-year-old Josh staged a whirlwind couple’s photo shoot across Wollongong’s scenic locations before returning to the Rosemeadow park where he first met his future fiancee, then aged 12.
Surrounded by family and friends, Mr Cotter knelt down on one knee and asked Jessica to marry him on Friday night in the park at Soliano St.
“In the last six months I have been trying to come up with an idea of how do I propose to the love of my life without her having any idea at all,” he said.
“Since that time I have gotten to know her and realised how much of a kind heart she is, how selfless she is and how she gives back to others.
“I realised that's the person I want to marry and that's the person I want to be the mother of my children.”
Walking towards the park, Mr Cotter said he couldn’t contain his emotions.
“Walking up the dark street, with all the music playing and lights, I just couldn’t comprehend it all,” he said.
“I burst into tears walking up.”
Jessica Anderson said the dream proposal was a surprise right until the very end.
“Josh knows I am quite sentimental and it was all done so effortlessly,” he said.
“I was in shock right until the very end, I just couldn’t believe it.
“I have watched the video like 30 times, I am still trying take it all in.”
The proposal video has since gone viral, viewed more than 8000 times since the proposal on Friday.
The loved-up couple is taking in the moment before they start planning their wedding, expecting to marry late 2018 with family, music and dancing.
