DESPITE reported sightings in Richmond, intellectually disabled Ingleburn man Turia Travelon Vaine Keu remains missing after leaving home following breakfast with his mum 11 days ago.
Macquarie Fields police have renewed their appeal to find Turia, 30, who left his home on Tuesday, August 1, at 6.30am.
Police and Turia’s family have serious concerns about his welfare because he has a mental age of five and he did not take a wallet or any money with him.
Macquarie Fields police investigations manager senior constable Rod Cutler said there had been reported sightings of Turia in Richmond since he went missing.
Senior Const Cutler does not believe someone has taken Turia in and said it was more likely he may be sleeping rough.
“Turia has been missing a long time and it’s winter. We’d like to get him home and safe,’’ he said.
After Turia and his mum had breakfast, she went back to bed and at some point Turia left the house and was discovered missing when his mum got back up at 9am.
Turia has no mobile phone, Opal card, money or wallet and police think he may have caught a train after leaving his home.
“In the past, he has been found sleeping at a bus shelter. Last time this occurred he was located at RPA hospital at Camperdown,’’ police said on Facebook.
Turia is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, with a large build and possibly wearing a black cap.
Anyone with information is urged to phone Macquarie Fields police on 9605 0499.
