Australia’s best live music acts will take over Campbelltown in January as part of the first ever Out of Bounds festival.
The multi-platinum, ARIA Award-winning hip-hop artist ILLY will headline the event alongside hometown heroes The Rubens.
The all-Australian festival is the brainchild of founder of independent record label I OH YOU and former Macarthur Anglican School student Johann Ponniah.
“Being born and raised in Campbelltown ‘til I finished high school, I know what an amazing place it is to grow up,” Mr Ponniah said.
“I’m intensely proud of my hometown area and grateful for everything the community gave me.
“In saying that, I also know how distant and separated it can feel from the inner-city areas that are often spoiled for choice and cultural opportunities.”
The line up will feature popular artists Mallrat, Trophy Eyes, WAAX, Alex the Astronaut, GRAACE, Clypso, Lex Deluxe along with DJ sets from party-starters DZ Deathrays and Northeast Party House.
Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic said the festival was a real coup for Campbelltown.
“Attracting a music festival of this scale demonstrates the potential of our city to become a
destination of choice for entertainment events,” he said.
Out of Bounds will be held at Campbelltown Athletics track from 1pm to 10pm on January 18.
It is an all ages event (15+).
