A multimillion-dollar housing development has revealed additional plans for a number of large double-storey family homes, bringing the total to nearly 200 residences along one of southwest Sydney’s busiest roads.
Low Cost Housing submitted a $4 million subdivision plan to Camden Council this month, proposing 10 more double-storey houses for a two hectare superlot. Each will feature four bedrooms, two bathrooms and garage space within a two-hectare superlot.
Plans for the new homes at 701 Camden Valley Way, Catherine Fields will complement a $7 million housing development by Metro Property Development on neighbouring lots.
Metro Property Development’s plans for 168 homes and 12 new roads, approved by council in 2016, are said to commence construction alongside the newly unveiled houses.
In total, 178 homes will be built across 12 hectares. A planner stated the proposal aims to meet “the housing needs of the community” within a medium-density residential environment.
Catherine Fields is identified by the NSW Government as one of the priority growth precincts within the South west growth area, with 3200 new homes planned for the suburb.
Construction at 701 Camden Valley Way is anticipated to take just under two years once approved. The vacant lot and surrounding areas are zoned for low to medium density housing as part of land released to meet the state’s housing demands.
“The development will have a positive social impact by enhancing the residential quality of the surrounding and satisfies the housing needs of the local community,” a planner said.
The previously approved network of new roads also aims to resolve traffic congestion issues for the housing precinct, improve its connectivity and create a walkable neighbourhood.
