FOUR Macarthur region athletes will tackle the 2013 Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup, as part of the Australian team.
Brad Grove of Currans Hill, Colin Smith of Appin, Daniel Begman of Elderslie, and Campbelltown's Fabian Castillo were selected in the side after showing excellent form during the 2012-2013 NSW Wheelchair Rugby League season.
The World Cup tournament will be staged during the Festival of Rugby League World Cups in the United Kingdom in July. The Australian team will face the best wheelchair athletes from England, France, Wales, Scotland and Malta.
However, national and Newcastle Knights squad member Brad Grove said the Aussie side will surprise the Europeans.
"We're going to surprise and shake up the dominant French and English side," he said. Coach Troy Sachs has prepared the team withplenty of fitness work, assisted by NSWRS development officer Steve Hewson.
