IT HAS been 192 years since Frederick Fisher stepped out of his Campbelltown home and was never seen again.

When John Farley stumbled into a Campbelltown hotel four months later claiming to have seen the ghost of Fred Fisher, the legend was born.

While the tale is nothing new to long-term Macarthur region residents, it is only now that an accurate picture of Fred Fisher has been painted.

Artist Michael Fardon — working with ghost hunters S. C. I Paranormal, who run Sydney Investigation Ghost Tours — recently painted a portrait of Fisher that he claimed was described to them by the man himself.

“Fred, then aged 34, was a man in the prime of his life when he was murdered, certainly not the frail old man with the long shaggy beard that many illustrations portray him as,” he said.

Fardon said the portrait was created after working with mediums who communicated with Fisher at Campbelltown Town Hall Theatre.

“S. C. I Paranormal commissioned me to do the painting,” he said.

“I was a sceptic but went along to see what it was about; some freaky things happened that brought me around.”

Mr Fardon said the investigation took 18 months for S. C. I to complete.

“They intensely investigated with Fred’s ghost over an 18-month period, with the aid of several mediums at different stages of the investigations for the purpose of clarity,” he said.

“They found out found out exactly what Fred Fisher looked like during his final days before he was murdered.

“They also found out from Fred a lot of information about the last few months of his life during these investigations.”
