First apartments approved in Oran Park

Oran Park is officially growing up, with the first of 1000 apartments approved by the Camden Local Planning Panel this week.

Oran Park is officially growing up, with the first of 1000 apartments approved by the Camden Local Planning Panel this week.

The six-storey apartment complex, to be known as The Metro, will be a stone’s throw from Oran Park Podium shopping centre, the future train station and will overlook the planned Julia Reserve.

The Metro will be located a stone’s throw away from Oran Park Podium.

Greenfields Development Company general manager Mick Owens told the Chronicle it’s exciting news for the growing suburb.

“It’s another piece of the town centre,” he said.

“We are very happy with the design of the building and it gives people another housing choice.

“A lot of people don’t want a backyard anymore.”

The Metro will stand at 26.8m tall and include 48 one, two and three bedrooms apartments, two levels of underground carparking and an open roof top terrace.

Mr Owens said the complex would present the most affordable way to live in Oran Park.

He said it was hoped the building would be complete by the end of next year.

Construction also is taking place on a six-storey commercial building in Oran Park CBD, with plans for it’s twin building expected to be lodged in the short term future.
