MINTO-based Australian Frontline Machinery are offering the unique opportunity to own your personal navy ship, with bidding starting from $9.

Three former navy ships from the Australian Defence Force, stretching up to 43 metres in length, will be available to the general public via auction from Monday.

Australian Frontline Machinery general manager Colin Werner said it’s a unique chance to dock your own piece of naval military history.

“We’ve been selling ex-military vehicles for the past five years,” he said.

“We have sold inflatable boats, dinghies and outboard motors from the Australian Army, but these are the first ex-Navy ships we have had available.

“We’ve included a structural survey report for each ship as well as conversion concepts plans to show bidders how they could potentially convert each ship.”

The ships, currently docked across Australia, include former Royal Australian Navy trials and submarine rescue ship HMAS Seahorse Horizon Protector.

Two additional ex-navy ships, self-propelled water fuel lighter ships named Warrigal and Wyulda, are also for auction.

Australian Frontline Machinery is the Macarthur region’s military paradise, frequently stocking unimog trucks, Mack trucks and land rovers.

All prospective buyers for the three ex-navy ships are required to demonstrate their ability to fund and relocate the ships, before being approved for bidding.

The auction, via graysonline.com, will close at 5pm on Friday, June 8.
