Federal Election 2019: Dr Mike Freelander retains Macarthur electorate

Macarthur federal Labor MP Dr Mike Freelander has retained his seat for another three years.
Dr Freelander, who has been the Macarthur MP since the 2016 election, gained 59.17 per cent of the two-candidate preferred vote, recording a swing of 0.84 per cent towards him.
Liberal candidate Riley Munro received 40.83 per cent of the two-party vote.
According to Australian Electoral Commission first preference figures, One Nation’s Shane Norman received a swing of 8.30 pere cent of votes.
In ballot paper order, the first preference votes at the close of counting just after 1am on Sunday were: James Gent (Christian Democratic Party Fred Nile Group) 3240 votes; Mike Freelander (Labor) 42,786; Matt Stellino (Animal Justice Party) 1735; Shane Norman (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation 7231); Riley Munro (Liberal) 26,429; Nathan John Murphy (United Australia Party) 2152 and Jayden Rivera (The Greens).
The vote represents a swing against Dr Freelander of 2.80 per cent, while the Liberal first preferences were down 5.53 per cent.
