Prosecutors are combing through a “considerable” amount of security footage as they prepare their case against three men charged over the alleged armed robbery outside a store.

Campbelltown resident Sean Albert Charnley, Ambarvale resident Scott James Chandler, 30, and Bowral local Peter Whipp, 38, have all been charged with the armed robbery of a Buxton supermarket in December last year.

Police alleged the three men robbed a supermarket on East Parade in Buxton between 8.40pm and 10.45pm on December 5.

According to police, a 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both employees of the supermarket, told officers that they just closed the store and were walking through the carpark when three men allegedly threatened them with a firearm and a knife.

Police further allege that the men pointed a gun at the victims and demanded cash before the male employee was stabbed in the hand with a knife. He did not require medical treatment for the minor hand injury.

Mr Whipp, Mr Chandler and Mr Charnley then allegedly fled the scene in a white Toyota SUV with $1700 in cash and the male employee’s wallet, which held his identification cards.

According to a police statement released last year, officers called on the assistance of specialist squads including the Dog Unit and Police Air, who located the vehicle within the hour. Police stopped the vehicle in an industrial estate in Ingleburn just after 10pm.

Police allege they found the three men in the car, along with the stolen cash, wallet, and knife and all three were charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

In court on Friday, solicitor for the Director of Public Prosecutions Metra Ansari, informed the court they were seeking an adjournment.

She said the charge certificate was not ready to be filed.

“There are three co-accused involved in the matter and the solicitor with carriage needs time to consider of the role of each offender and the joint criminality,” she said.

“There is also a considerable amount of CCTV in the matter ... and the solicitor with carriage has been unwell with Covid.”

No pleas have been entered by the three man. The case has been adjourned until June 24, and all three main in custody on remand after being refused bail.
