Former world champion boxer Daniel Geale and his wife Sheena, of Harrington Park, were delighted to welcome their fourth child and third girl last week.
Little Harper was born at 2.55pm last Tuesday at Campbelltown Hospital but not before giving her parents a good scare.
“She had a little trouble breathing at first,” Geale said.
“But we had really good midwives, who we’ve dealt with before, and everything turned out for the best.
“It’s great to have another addition to the family.”
Geale said he and Sheena had settled on the name ‘Harper’ for a girl but weren’t as settled on a boy’s name.
“For a boy we liked Emmett, but weren’t positive, so it’s probably good she ended up being a girl,” he said.
Geale said Sheena was enjoying her rest and the couple was eager to start raising a baby again.
“Now it’s all about just getting into the routine of changing nappies and all that good stuff,” he said.
Geale, who has been training every day, said his body was doing well and he felt ready for another fight.
After his bout with Jarrod Fletcher in December last year, he called out Miguel Cotto as his desired next opponent, but no fight had been organised.
“We’ve also been in contact with (WBA super middleweight champion) Andre Ward ... I’m just waiting for the right fight,” Geale said.
