Campbelltown senior constable charged with assault

A Macarthur police officer’s employment status is under review after he was charged over an alleged assault.

On February 5, Camden police started an investigation into alleged assault offences.

Following inquiries, a senior constable was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The 40-year-old officer, who is attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command, was also charged with common assault and excluded person re-enter/attempt to re-enter premises.

The man is next due to appear at Picton Court on April 6.

A NSW Police statement said the man’s employment status remained under review.
