Campbelltown, Mt Annan: NSW Food Authority fines eateries

Failures to control pests, a lack of handwashing facilities and storing food at hazardous temperatures are just some of the breaches that have led to cafes and restaurants across the Macarthur region to be placed on the NSW Food Authority’s Name and Shame list in the last 12 months.

In Campbelltown, restaurants slapped with fines for safety breaches included Gloria Jeans on Hyde Parade, for failing to take all measures possible to eradicate and prevent pests, despite being given prior warnings.

The cafe’s franchisees were fined $880 on January 2, 2020.

Rosemeadow’s Noodle Paradise was slapped with a $880 fine on April 27 for failing to store potentially hazardous food under temperature control.

Noodle Paradise in Mt Annan, operated under a separate owner, was fined $880 for inadequate handwashing facilities where food was being prepared on September 30, 2019.

The restaurant copped a further $880 fine on the same date, for storing food incorrectly, without the appropriate temperature controls in place.

In the same month, Silverdale Country Bakehouse and Takeaway shop was fined for general uncleanliness on 2 September 2019.

The NSW Food Authority handing out an $440 fine for failing to maintain the premises to the required standard of cleanliness, despite warnings.
