Campbelltown and Macquarie Fields police lead the White Ribbon Day convoy to stop domestic violence

Men will take the oath to say no to violence against women during a White Ribbon Day convoy led by Macquarie Fields and Campbelltown police through the region

MEN will take the oath to say no to violence against women during a White Ribbon Day convoy led by Macquari Fields and Campbelltown police through the region.

The convoy of vehicles will include community members and take place on Friday, November 24, from 9am to 3pm as a show of community support to keep women safe from violence.

The White Ribbon Day convoy aims to raise awareness about domestic violence and encourages men to take the oath to create a future free from violence.

Macquarie Fields police crime manager chief inspector Mark Brett said domestic violence awareness was one of NSW Police Commissioner Michael Fuller’s priorities and officers were doing everything in their power to bring to poeple’s attention that the crime would not be tolerated.

Macquarie Fields police will lead the north convoy which will start from Glenquarie Town Centre and then travel to Minto Marketplace and Eagle Vale Marketplace.

The south convoy of vehicles will be led by Campbelltown police and start from Apex Park carpark, at Bradbury, and then travel to AB Central at Airds, Campbelltown TAFE and Macarthur Square.

There will be a range of activities at each stop.

The convoys will then meet at Campbelltown Sports Stadium at 1pm for a Tug of War and the taking of the White Ribbon Oath.

Residents and groups are invited to meet the two convoys on their routes and join the activities at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Now in its third year, the event aims to foster community cohesion, trust and respect for all participants.

It includes workshops, games and food, information stalls and performing arts.
