Two men who allegedly led officers on a pursuit in a stolen car, before they fled the scene on foot, have been refused bail in court.

About 3.50am on Sunday, officers attempted to stop two vehicles on Armour Ave, Camden South.

After allegedly failing to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated before both cars stopped on nearby McCall Ave.

The occupants of one of the cars were searched, while the people in the other car allegedly fled the scene on foot.

Police established a perimeter and, with assistance from the dog squad, Jacob Scott and Andrew Butler were arrested.

Jacob Scott, 20, was charged with nine offences, including police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, not stopping vehicle when directed to do so, destroy or damage property and face blackened or disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.

Scott fronted Moss Vale Local Court on Monday and was refused bail.

Andrew Butler was charged with being carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, face blackened or disguised with intent to commit indictable, enter enclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse and goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen (not motor vehicle).

He also fronted Moss Vale Local Court on Monday and was refused bail.

Both men are due to appear at Picton Local Court in June.
