The magical Christmas Eves of Camden Hospital are once more spreading the festive cheer this Christmas, calling on the community to get behind their annual festive project.
Palliative care volunteers are accepting donations for this year’s Christmas stall which raises money to help create a more comfortable experience for palliative care patients and their families.
Donations such as Christmas cake, puddings, ornaments, nuts, jam, crochet items, tea and soaps and socks are now being accepted with the goodies to be placed into Christmas hampers and sold at a special Christmas stall on November 28.
Palliative care volunteer Sandra Wales said being involved in the Christmas project was very fulfilling.
“I think the important part about it is knowing that what we do right here at Camden Hospital, through our volunteer work, goes back into the hospital which serves the community,” she said. “I have always been fortunate to have support myself when I have needed it and I felt that it is my time now to be able give some of my time to help others.”
The money raised will this year help to buy sound equipment for memorial services held at the hospital.
Donations are accepted at the Camden Palliative Care inpatient unit reception from 10am to 7pm until November 24.
The community is invited to buy a hamper from the Christmas stall on November 28, held near the palliative care unit on the lower ground floor from 10am to 1pm.
