The body of a man has been located in bushland south of Campbelltown after he was reported missing earlier this month.

The body of a 57-year-old man has been located in bushland south of Campbelltown after he was reported missing earlier this month.

Darren Banks, was last seen at a home on Maple Place, Macquarie Fields about 4pm on March 15.

Following an investigation into his disappearance, police found a White Toyota Camry belonging to Mr Banks at Starlight Trail, Wattle Ridge near Bargo on March 21.

Police believe the 57-year-old had gone bushwalking towards Ahearn lookout or Emmets Flat Campground area about an hour south of Campbelltown.

Police previously said they held concerns for his welfare as it was out of character for him to not be in contact with his family.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
