THE next generation of BMX bandits from across the Camden region can't wait to compete in front of a home crowd next month.

Macarthur BMX Club is set to host round two of the NSW BMX Series at Kirkham Sports Complex on March 23.

The Kirkham event comes after the team's successful trip to Maitland on February 17 for round one of the competition.

Of the 51 entrants on the day, 18 Macarthur riders made the finals.

BMX Macarthur publicity officer Kirsty McCormack said everyone enjoyed the Maitland trip.

"All our team members had a great time with a few standout performances from a few who made the finals," she said.

"At the end of the day, it's all about having fun, so it was great to see so many smiling faces."

The club was formed in 1998 and has held race meetings at the Kirkham track since it opened in 2001.

Mrs McCormack said the club looked forward to hosting round two of the competition.

"We'd love to see plenty of local residents come out and cheer on our riders on the day," she said.

"If any local children want to have a go, they can come down to Kirkham in the weeks leading up to the competition for more information."
