Four hundred days since a multistorey apartment complex was unanimously rejected by the Joint Regional Planning Panel, a new design will see it brought to life.
Negotiations between developer Sunshine Property Developers and Camden Council have borne fruit following an appeal by Muhammad Imran Khalid in the Land and Environment Court.
The new design will see three four-storey apartment buildings, including 82 units in total, constructed on a subdivided portion of 35 Ingleburn Rd, Leppington.
The site is less than 400m from Lockies Hotel and 2km from Leppington Station.
The project is understood to be valued about $30 million.
Fifteen units and 65 car spaces were wiped from the original plans, which were deemed by council officers at the time as “unsatisfactory”.
The discussions between the developer and council took place last Monday with Commissioner Jennifer Smithson issuing the agreed court orders on Tuesday.

The launch of the project will be delayed until the construction and dedication of a local road and the registration of the subdivided lot.
The developer has also been ordered to pay Camden Council $18,000 in legal costs.
The project follows the approval of Leppington’s first apartment complex, six four-storey buildings on Rickard Rd, being approved in late 2017.
