WHEN Ambarvale teenager Monique Ambrose beat 22,000 people in the NRL Supercoach Finals fantasy league, she proved teenage girls know their sport.

Unlike the NRL regular season fantasy jackpot of $30,000, the 14-year-old's only prize was the glory of "girl power".

But that was more than enough for the Sherwood Hills Christian School Year 9 student.

"When you think about the regular season prize it's disappointing. But I'm just happy to show girls know their rugby league. Don't mess with us," she said.

"Coaches" had to select seven players within a $1.4 million salary cap, including a front row, second row, hooker, centre/wing, half-back, five-eighth and fullback.

Although an avid Bulldogs fan, Monique admits Roosters second-rower Aidan Guerra is her favourite NRL player because his grand final score handed her the Supercoach title.

"He scored 61 points in the grand final and I needed that, because I won by seven points," she said.

Her Supercoach team, Dogs to Win, consisted of Manly fullback Brett Stewart and Roosters Guerra, James Maloney, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Daniel Mortimer, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Jake Friend.

Dogs to Win won the four-week competition with a total of 2720 points against the second-place score of 2713.

Monique admits her philosophy was to "find cheaper players" she expected to shine. Her father, Shane Ambrose, was closely behind his daughter in the rankings in fourth place.

Monique said she would be signing up for 2014 regular season Supercoach.
