A multimillion-dollar development project that features apartments, a child care centre and a cafe space for the heart of Ambarvale is back on public exhibition.

Plans were lodged with Campbelltown Council to transform a vacant site on Wickfield Rd, near the Aldi supermarket, into a vibrant hub in 2020.

The development application, which estimates the project to cost $12.5 million, went onto public exhibition in August 2020, and after some adjustments has been put out for feedback.

If approved, the development would be up to four storeys high, featuring 29 apartments and a 75-space child care centre. A 69-space basement car park has also been proposed.

Landscape drawings submitted to Campbelltown Council give insight into the plans for the childcare centre.

As well as indoor and outdoor play areas, a sensory path with stone steppers through the garden and a children’s herb garden are on the table.

Documents tendered to council show the centre will cater to children between the ages of zero and five years old.

The cafe will trade only between Monday and Friday to time with when the child care centre is operating.

The residential section will be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

The development application is on exhibition until February 14. Campbelltown council will then review any submissions made, and submit a report to councillors based on that feedback.
