CAMDEN’S Alfie Arcuri is back in the studio and pumping out songs as he prepares to release a new album later this year.
Arcuri found fans across Australia and gathered a strong following at home in the Macarthur region as he wowed audiences week after week before winning Channel 9’s hit television talent competition The Voice.
Now the 27-year-old former architect is hoping to release an album in the coming months.
Describing the his new tunes as a “mix of ballads and pop songs”, Arcuri is looking forward to seeing how people react to his new music.
“I get excited playing the new stuff to people because I always love getting others’ opinions on my music,” he said.
“I’ve obviously shown it family and friends and the producers but in the end it’s the public who you want to hear your music.
“We’ve written about 25 songs and now it’s a case of choosing what to use.
“I’m hoping that’s enough to put on to a new album.”
Arcuri promised fans his new music would be “very honest” and personal.
“I think all my music is about experiences in my life,” he said.
“Every time I get into a session it’s been very honest.”
He had the chance to show off some of his latest work at a recent gig at the opening new Lexus of Macarthur and Clinton’s Toyota dealership at Gregory Hills.
Arcuri performed at the opening of the car dealership alongside Guy Sebastian inside a building he worked to design in one of his final projects as an architect before his rise to stardom on The Voice.
“I worked on the building with Mosca Pserras Architects, it was one of my last projects before the show,” he said.
“I played a couple of covers but thought it would be a great opportunity to play three of my new songs.
“It was pretty cool playing there when I expected to be at the opening as one of the architects.”
Arcuri said he would be interested in playing a local gig when his album is released.
“It’s funny because I haven’t actually performed locally,” he said.
“I sung at the (Wollondilly) Big Day In but that’s all I’ve done so far. I’d really like to do a gig at The Cube or somewhere like that.”
