An Eagle Vale woman has been charged in relation to the death of “kind-hearted” teenager Alex Ioane at an out-of-control house party last year, accused of burning key evidence.
Lute Taumalolo, 26, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and conceal serious indictable offence, with the matter first mentioned in Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday.
Police allege Lute Taumalolo, 26, was at the scene of the violent brawl in southwest Sydney last May where Ioane was allegedly killed by a pack of men, including her brother Tafuna Taumalolo and a 17-year-old boy.
Ioane had attended the Friday night party at Chester Rd, Ingleburn, advertised on Facebook as a ‘70th birthday’, with his girlfriend Lynn Lavea.
Police allege witnesses saw Tafuna Taumalolo kick Ioane from behind, striking just under the back of the head, which saw the victim fall to the ground.
Both Tafuna Taumalolo and the other boy have been charged with murder and remain before the courts.
The day following the party, police allege Lute Taumalolo allegedly lit a fire at an Eagle Vale property and convinced two males allegedly connected with the death to burn their clothes.
The 26-year-old did not appear by videolink at Campbelltown Local Court and made no application for bail.
The matter will return to court in May.
