A 21-year-old Leumeah man who rolled a Nissan Pulsar into bushland following a police chase through Macquarie Fields has fronted court for the first time.
P-plate licence holder Aaron Scott Cooper clutched on to a 500ml V can as he entered Campbelltown Courthouse on Tuesday to plead guilty to a police pursuit on May 6.
Police spotted a Nissan Pulsar, driven by Cooper with four passengers inside, allegedly speeding through a signposted 60km/h zone on Harold St, Macquarie Fields about 11.15pm on May 6.
The car later entered Bensley Rd and allegedly reached speeds of 100km/h in a 60km/h zone as police pursued it.
At the end of the road, the car rolled and landed on its roof. The passengers fled and left Cooper trapped in the car to be freed by police and arrested.
Following an extensive search, with help from the Dog Unit, the four passengers were found with minor injuries.
No plea has been entered to a second charge of drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous. His lawyer indicated to Registrar Paul West lawyer there would be representations made to police to have the charge dropped.
Cooper will be sentenced on the police pursuit offence on September 8.
