Kirkham’s Camelot castle was filled with community members and the cast of A Place To Call Home for the season four VIP launch party on Sunday.
Hundreds of people gathered to ceelbrate the return of the much loved show, based at Camelot with many scenes filmed across Camden and Wollondilly shire.
Camelot’s owner Rachel Powers said she couldn’t thank Foxtel enough for bringing the community together and putting Camden on the map.
“Thanks to Foxtel and the filming of A Place to Call Home, Camelot has a voice,” she said.
“Foxtel’s love, constant support and generosity not only to Camelot but to the other filming locations and the local businesses of the Macarthur region has not gone unrecognised.
“Not only have they provided a boom in tourism and financial growth to Camden, putting Camden on the map, they have brought the community of Camden together and given Camelot new life and for that we can only say thank you.”
Mrs Powers said having the show filmed on site has assisted with Camelot’s restoration and given the historical home a modern day purpose.
“I believe the reason why it makes such a standout location is simply because Camelot is unique; it’s like taking a step back in time when you enter the gates,” she said. “A Place to Call home filming season has become my favourite time of the year.
“Camelot is filled with the crews laughs and their chirpy good mornings, the cast practising their lines on the lawns and whispered conversations behind the camera.
“Filming brings the house to life and gives Camelot its own character.”
