Young Benjamin Nasio hopes to fast track his way to his first Zone competition
Doonside track and field star Benjamin Nasio hopes to make his first Zone competition next year and at just five years old he’s not far off.

HE’S only five, but it’s already hard to keep up with little Benjamin Nasio.
The Doonside Athletics Centre member is dominating on the track and is the under-6s age champion.
“I like racing and the 200m is my favourite. I can run really fast,” Benjamin said.
And it’s not just at his own club that he’s a star.
Benjamin recently competed in a rival club’s gala day and won seven gold medals, five silvers and five bronze medals.
Next year, he’s already eyeing off his first Zone competition, and despite his young age, he’s been training hard and producing personal bests just about every time he hits the track.
The Local Sports Stars program is searching for outstanding athletes aged under 18, as well as those who love and contribute to making sport a great experience for everyone.
There are five categories to nominate people in – Junior Sports Star Individual, Junior Sports Star Team, Young Sporting Spirit Individual, Young Sporting Star Team and Service to Sport.
