Jamie-lee Davies, 17, is this week’s Local Sports Stars nominee thanks to her deeds on the rugby league field in a sport that has given her so much happiness.

JAIME-LEE  Davies, 17, is this week’s Local Sports Stars nominee thanks to her deeds on the rugby league field in a sport that has given her so much happiness.

The Mt Druitt local was part of Penrith’s history-making Tarsha Gale Cup side this season and plays for Glenmore Park Brumbies.

Penrith won the inaugural Tarsha Gale Cup premiership but star player Davies said the game has changed her as a person.

“I never really got on with other girls until I played footy with them,” she said.

“It’s a good way of learning self-control.” Davies said her love for the game started when she was eight.

There are five categories in the Local Sports Star including Junior Sports Star Individual, Junior Sports Star Team, Young Sporting Star Team and Service to Sport.
