Cheltenham Girls High School’s U15’s netball team is officially the best in the state after claiming the 2017 NSW Combined High Schools championship.
Sixteen of the top school netball teams in NSW came together to compete against each other in the elite two-day knockout carnival, which was held in Illawarra late last month.
Despite the enormous level of competition they took on across the two days, Cheltenham never seemed fazed.
The girls cruised to the shield undefeated, winning all 15 of their games.
“This is an example of 10 beautiful young ladies pursuing their passion for netball,” said Karen Dyer, one of the parents who accompanied the team throughout the carnival.
“They did us proud.
“This is truly an amazing sport which encourages friendships, sportsmanship and determination to strive for the best.”
Cheltenham’s U15s netball team has been nominated for NewsLocal’s Junior Sports Star-Team award.
