From the dance floor to the swimming pool, Regan Garufi can do it all.
The Junior Sports Star nominee from Cherrybrook only turned 10 on Friday but she has already made waves in both dancing and swimming.
Regan started dancing aged two and did jazz, tap and ballet up until last year when she switched from jazz to lyrical.
She dances with the Australian Performing Arts College in Castle Hill, where she has won numerous accolades from a young age.
At seven, she became the first pre-junior at APAC to be awarded Student of the Year with a scholarship and was offered a place in the company.
In the same year, she broke her arm but still managed to score a distinction on her ballet exam, and has continued to score distinctions on all her exams since.
Last year, she received a Junior Excellence Award from APAC and was also named NSW CSTD Junior Tap Champion.
She has also excelled in the pool, breaking three decades-old swimming records at this year’s Arden Anglican School carnival and setting a record for butterfly. She also claimed two individual golds and two relay golds at the RSL State Championships.
The Castle Hill RSL Dolphin swimmer juggles swim practise with dance training and has been kept extra busy preparing for her ballet and tap exams as well as two solo and two troupe performances at upcoming dance eisteddfods.
