Werriwa federal Labor MP Anne Stanley has vowed to continue fighting for the community’s fair share of infrastructure improvements and services.

The longtime Liverpool resident and former Liverpool councillor was returned to the seat of Werriwa at the federal election and will serve another three years in Opposition.

Ms Stanley’s pitch to voters included an injection of $2 million towards the extension of Middleton Dr, $500,000 towards the restoration and expansion of parts of the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and $75,000 for upgrades to Jardine Park Netball Courts in Casula.

Other investments flagged by Labor included $25,000 for a new deck and shade cloth at Liverpool Women’s Resource Centre, $50,000 for upgrades to facilities at Greenway Park and $75,000 for upgrades to the lighting and amenities block at Whitlam Park 2.

Ms Stanley said she was pleased to have secured a number of commitments during her last term, including more commuter carparking at Edmondson Park, and will continue to fight for the community.

“Whether it’s the extension of Middleton Dr, a lift at Macquarie Fields station or fixing Cambridge Ave, our community needs better infrastructure and services.”

She said it was “disappointing” no commitments for Werriwa were made by any other party or candidate during the campaign.

“I’ll be working hard every day to hold the government to account and ensure our community doesn’t miss out.”
