Warwick Farm shooting murder: police seek Marko Krivosic

POLICE have released dramatic CCTV footage of the hooded man they believe shot dead George Nassif on Sunday and launched a manhunt for Marko Krivosic, who they allege is the man pictured.

LIVERPOOL police have launched a manhunt for Marko Krivosic, who they believe fired the shot that killed father-of-four George Nassif in his Warwick Farm apartment on Sunday.

Nassif was shot in the back at his fifth floor unit on George St in the early evening on July 22, before his alleged killer dumped the pistol he used in a garbage bin and ran away from the scene.

Liverpool City Police acting commander Paul Albury today said police were working 24 hours a day to track down Krivosic and bring him before the courts over the “heinous” crime.

“Images have been released of (a man) who we allege to be Marko Krivosic wearing a balaclava, armed with a pistol, a short time before the murder took place inside the unit,” Detective A/Superintendent Albury said.

“It’s a disgusting escalation of violence, shooting an unarmed man in the back. It’s an abhorrent crime and our focus is on bringing him before the courts.”

Police said CCTV images allegedly showed Krivosic entering the unit block shortly before he went up to the fifth level, where Nassif lived.

Krivosic, 27, is described as being 175cm tall, of a solid build, with an olive complexion.

He was once linked to the Comanchero bikie gang and police are investigating whether a dispute over drugs or money led to Nassif’s murder.

“Krivosic’s family and close associates live in the Liverpool area and that’s why we’re making this appeal today,” Det A/Supt Albury said.

“A few days ago we made an appeal to him and he is clearly avoiding us.

“Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him but to call Liverpool police, CrimeStoppers or 000.”

Police recovered a 22 calibre Browning pistol believed to have been used in the murder from a garbage bin near Nassif’s apartment, but were unable to say whether Krivosic was armed with a different weapon.

“Shooting an unarmed man in the back and murdering him gives us grave concerns (about arresting him),” Det A/Supt Albury said.

“Krivosic was known to have a history of violence and the priority is arresting him as soon as possible.”

A/Supt Albury said police were also seeking a second man in relation to the murder but were not currently sharing his identity.

Nassif’s name was still on the court list at Liverpool Local Court today as he was due to face the magistrate over charges of possessing ice and MDMA at a Cabramatta hotel last April.
