Detectives have released CCTV images of two men as they investigate an armed robbery in Sydney’s southwest where a shopkeeper was threatened with a baseball bat and tomahawk.
Police said two men entered a convenience store on Mannix Pde, in Warwick Farm, about 4.45pm on May 19 and threatened the female staff member.
The pair fled on foot with cigarettes and cash, and the woman was not injured.
Police have now released CCTV images of two men who may be able to help with inquiries.
Liverpool Police crime manager, Detective Acting Inspector Scott Houldin, said it was a violent crime.
“The robbery itself was disorganised and the men got away with a small amount of money,” he said.
“Thankfully, in this particular situation the female shopkeeper wasn’t injured but it could have quite easily been a different story.”
One man is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged 18-20, 170-180cm tall and of medium build.
At the time he was wearing a dark blue hooded jumper, black shorts and white joggers.
A second man is depicted as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 180cm tall and of medium build.
He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, cream-coloured shorts, black socks and grey shoes.
Anyone who recognises the men or may have been in the area is urged to contact police.
“The robbery happened in broad daylight and there might have been people in the area of the shops in Mannix Parade who saw these two men but thought nothing of it.”
