THESE are the Christmas lights that are almost too good to be true.
It’s the time of year where local communities spill out onto their streets on summer nights to behold sparkling displays of Christmas lights.
However, this family from Chipping Norton may have the light display to trump them all.
Cade Herringe and Neil Teodorovic’s light display on their homes in Fabersham Cres, Chipping Norton dances to Mariah Carey’s iconic Christmas hit All I Want For Christmas Is You.
Twin Santas on both garage doors literally sing in time to the festive tune while the lights blink and twinkle along.
They are making the most of their merry spectacular by taking part in Lights for Kids and raising funds for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick.
Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network chief executive Michael Brydon said Lights for Kids
brings together all the best parts of Christmas — twinkling lights, family, and the joy of
helping others.
“Some of our patients spend the festive season in hospital and unfortunately do not get the
opportunity to head out to see the Christmas lights with their families,” Dr Brydon said.
“This time of year is all about giving and Lights for Kids is the perfect way to be involved and help sick kids live their healthiest lives.”
More than 150,000 children walk through the door at both hospitals each year.
Many only stay a day or two — but for some, the hospital becomes their second home.
Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO Nicola Stokes said spectacular light displays on offer were a delight.
“If you can’t light up your house this year, you can still support sick kids by taking your
family and friends to visit a Lights for Kids house near you,” she said.
