NSW clubs are celebrating news all 2021 hockey events bar one will be held at the same venues they were slated for before the coronavirus pandemic caused widespread cancellations in sport.
NSW clubs are celebrating news all 2021 hockey events bar one will be held at the same venues they were slated for before the coronavirus pandemic caused widespread cancellations in sport.
The men’s and women’s Australian Masters 2021 Championships will be held as a ‘Mega Masters’ event in Newcastle and surrounding areas while the national outdoor hockey championship will commence in April with the under 18s and under 15s championships taking place in Launceston and Bathurst (NSW) respectively.
The under 21 championships will follow at the Moorebank Liverpool District Hockey Club from June 30 before the Country championships from 7-14 August in Albany, Western Australia.
The first ever Mega Masters will run from September 23 until October 9, with the national under 13s in Hobart in October.

“The safety, health and wellbeing of all players, staff, officials and spectators remains Hockey Australia’s top priority, so we will continue to follow government advice and direction, but we are largely enthused about all of these events recommencing in 2021,’’ said Hockey Australia CEO Matt Favier.
“These dates and details are obviously subject to the situation with COVID, but this announcement demonstrates that as a sport, we are eager to begin planning and preparation for holding successful events next year with participants from across the country.”
