Punchbowl Park: Laalaa brothers charged after shooting
Two brothers have fronted court after a man walking through a park was allegedly attacked and had his head ‘stomped on’ in southwest Sydney.

Two men have fronted court after a man was allegedly shot at, beaten and had his head ‘stomped on’.
Amir Laalaa appeared in Liverpool Court on February 14, a few days after his younger brother Nour Laalaa fronted Burwood Court.
The brothers face charges of discharging a firearm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident on November 29.
Police allege five men spotted Ahmad Dergham in Punchbowl Park at 2pm. They pulled out a gun and some of them allegedly fired shots at the 31-year-old man.
When the bullets missed, the men allegedly chased Mr Dergham, knocked him to the ground and assaulted him.
One of the men “stomped on his face”, police said.
Amir Laalaa, 23, was arrested at his home in Heckenberg yesterday. He appeared at Liverpool Local Court today, February 14.
His sister watched from the gallery as defence lawyer Mostafa Daoudie asked for an adjournment.
No application for bail was made and it was formally refused.
“These are very serious allegations,” Mr Daoudie said, after the hearing. “No further comment will be made at this time.”
Police arrested Nour Laalaa, 19, at Green Valley Police Station on February 7.
His case was last heard at Burwood Local Court on February 12.
Bail was not applied for and he remains in custody.
Amir Laalaa’s case will return to Liverpool Local Court on February 17, and Nour Laalaa’s case will present to Burwood Court on April 8.
