Police investigate assault on teen, threatened with knife

Police are appealing for public information in relation to the whereabouts of a man, believed to be in his mid-20s, who may be able to assist with a Liverpool assault on a teen, punched and threatened with a knife.

Police are investigating an assault at Liverpool railway station during which a teenager was punched and threatened with a knife.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to help with inquiries into the incident, which occurred about 3.20pm on Monday, May 13.

A male teenager, 15, was travelling on a train from Fairfield and, as it approached Liverpool railway station, a man began abusing the teenager and his friends.

Officers said the teenager was then punched and threatened with a knife.

Officers from the Police Transport and Public Safety Command commenced an investigation.

The man depicted in the images released by police is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-20s, with a slim build and a large tattoo on the back of his neck.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a navy blue hooded jumper, dark tracksuit pants and carrying a red backpack.

Police are urging anyone with information, or anyone who knows the identity of the man, to come forward.
