As rain continues to pour down on southwest Sydney, the Georges River is at risk of flooding once more following a week in which homes were inundated and roads shut off.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has warned the Georges River was likely to reach the minor flood level of two metres on Tuesday morning, after initially being concerned it would flood today.

A number of roads have been closed with the low-lying areas near the Georges River warned they may need to evacuate if conditions worsen.

That includes residents on the southern side of Newbridge Rd, between Davey Robinson Drive and Milperra Bridge, along with Rickard Rd and Arthur St.
