The developer behind a new luxury residential community in Sydney’s southwest has unveiled a first glimpse at the $165 million project.

Mirvac is building 180 new homes along the Georges River in Moorebank, minutes away from its award-winning Brighton Lakes development.

Georges Cove Residences, located to the east of Brickmakers Drive, will feature a mix of housing types, including freestanding and terrace homes, with prices for an attached three-bedroom home starting from the upper end of $700,000.

Homes will be sold off the plan, with the first release expected in early spring.

The new estate — located next to the site of a proposed $47 million marina — will also be serviced by a community green featuring a swimming pool, open-air fitness area, barbecue facilities, picnic tables and a playground.

Green space will also be available in the form of a pocket park.

Mirvac’s head of residential, Stuart Penklis, said Liverpool’s transformation into Sydney’s third CBD was driving strong demand for quality homes.

“Liverpool is the third largest CBD in Sydney and its economic and population base is changing as more knowledge-based companies and industries establish themselves to take advantage of proximity to the future second airport in western Sydney,” Mr Penklis said.

“Economic opportunity combined with a heightened desire for homes that promote a healthy and active lifestyle close to parks and open space is driving demand for residential communities such as Georges Cove Residences.”

A recent survey conducted by Mirvac revealed access to open space and backyards was becoming more attractive across all buyer types, he said.
