Miller: Woman allegedly robbed at knifepoint at Miller Woolworths

A man who allegedly threatened a female Woolworths employee at knifepoint in Sydney’s southwest, before taking cash and leaving the scene on a pushbike, has been charged.

A man accused of a knifepoint robbery at a southwest Sydney supermarket – before fleeing on a pushbike – has been charged.

A 29-year-old man, riding a pushbike, was stopped by police officers about 8.20am on Thursday in the Miller area.

After speaking to the man he was arrested and taken to Liverpool police station where he was charged in connection to two robberies in the past two days.

Police allege he was responsible for a robbery of a Liverpool service station on Tuesday, and a robbery of a Woolworths supermarket on Wednesday.

Officers were told a man had allegedly threatened a Woolworths employee with a knife and demanded money, before stealing cashand leaving on a pushbike.

The employee was not injured.

The man has been charged with armed robbery, robbery, goods in custody suspected to be stolen and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and will appear at Liverpool Local Court on Friday.

A Woolworths spokeswoman said following the incident counselling was being offered to team members.

“The safety of our team members and customers is our highest priority,” she said.

“We’re in the process of offering counselling and support to our Miller team members and continue to assist police as required.”

The store is operating as normal.
